The opportunity

Join CSIRO’s Australian Centre for Disease Preparedness (ACDP) in Geelong and play an important role in supporting the quality systems that underpin world-class scientific research and operations.

As the QA Advisor, you’ll join the ACDP Quality Assurance team and provide practical advice and hands-on support for the Centre’s Integrated Management System (IMS). A key focus will be administering and continually improving ACDP’s electronic Integrated Management System, Ideagen Quality Management, along with supporting systems including PipetteX and Vaisala ViewLinc.

Working closely with scientific and operational teams across ACDP, you’ll help staff understand and effectively use quality systems, provide training and guidance, maintain controlled documentation and support quality processes. You’ll also contribute to ACDP’s ongoing accreditation and certification against ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO/IEC 17043, as well as support studies conducted in accordance with OECD Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys combining quality expertise with systems administration, problem solving and stakeholder engagement. You’ll have the chance to influence how quality systems are used across a complex scientific environment while contributing to continuous improvement, compliance and a strong quality culture.

Please note that, due to the nature of the role, you will be required to meet ACDP’s microbiological security and any other additional security assessment requirements, as well as be appropriately vaccinated.

Your high-level duties will include:

  • Administering and supporting ACDP’s electronic Integrated Management System and associated quality systems, including PipetteX and Vaisala ViewLinc.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for quality system users, providing practical advice, system support and training to staff across ACDP.
  • Supporting the implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of ACDP’s quality management systems and procedures.
  • Managing and maintaining controlled documents and supporting consistent quality processes across the site.
  • Providing considered quality and technical advice to scientific and operational teams.
  • Building productive relationships with internal stakeholders, regulators, accreditation and certification bodies, customers and other external stakeholders.
  • Supporting improvement initiatives that enhance standardisation, simplify processes, strengthen compliance and improve operational efficiency.
  • Assisting with external audits and assessments conducted by accreditation and certification bodies, regulators, sponsors and customers.
  • Supporting the development and monitoring of quality objectives, targets, KPIs and other measures of IMS effectiveness.
