QA Analyst
Summary
Manual-first QA Analyst at Fellow, an AI meeting assistant, who designs and runs test plans across web, desktop, and mobile, maintains automated end-to-end regression tests, verifies release readiness, and uses AI tools like Cursor and Claude to speed up testing with judgment. Remote role within Canada.
About Fellow
Fellow is an AI meeting assistant built for privacy, security, and governance, used by thousands of enterprise customers including Shopify, HubSpot, and Dynatrace. We're evolving beyond notetaking into an AI Chief of Staff for the whole organization. We're a Series A, remote-first company headquartered in Ottawa. Learn more at .
The Role
Quality at Fellow covers the full meeting workflow across web, desktop, and mobile: agendas, notes, recording, AI recaps, and integrations. We need a QA Analyst who protects that experience from planning through release and into production.
You'll do hands-on manual testing and own our low-code automation test suites. This isn't a role for a pure manual tester or a pure automation engineer. Coding isn't required, but deep DOM knowledge and the ability to write precise CSS or XPath selectors are.
The role is broad, and it grows with the company. You'll own the quality of what we ship:
Influence: a say in scope and design while they're still being decided.
Authority: the final call on whether a release goes out.
Ownership: problems you find are yours to see through, even outside QA.
If you need clear boundaries around your work, startups might not be your thing.
What you will do
Join projects early and give feedback on scope, design, risk, and testability.
Write test plans for web, desktop, and mobile, then explore beyond them the way real customers use the product.
Own our low-code automation test suites: add, update, and retire tests using precise, resilient selectors.
Decide with Engineering which scenarios to automate, which to test by hand, and what the UI needs to make tests reliable.
Investigate failing runs, separate defects from flaky tests, and keep results trustworthy.
Approve releases, check critical flows after deployment, and help investigate customer-reported issues.
Use AI agents to draft test plans, find edge cases, maintain automated tests, investigate failures, and improve release workflows, verifying everything they produce.
What we're looking for
4+ years of manual QA experience on web, desktop, and/or mobile applications.
Experience owning low-code automation test suites.
Deep understanding of the DOM and the ability to write CSS and/or XPath selectors that target the right element without hesitation.
Mastery of browser developer tools, including the element inspector, console, and network inspector.
Daily use of AI agents such as Cursor or Claude in your QA work, with independent verification of their output.
Exceptional attention to detail and the judgment to distinguish a defect, UX feedback, and a feature request.
Sound prioritization under time pressure and changing requirements, and the confidence to raise concerns.
Availability for occasional late deployments.
What makes you stand out
You've built agentic automations for your own work or life that run unattended, that you've relied on for months, and that you've debugged when they broke. Tell us about the best one: what it does, how long it has run, and the last time it broke. Chat prompts, one-off scripts, and demos built for a portfolio don't count.
Nice to have
Experience with code-based test frameworks such as Playwright or Puppeteer.
Experience testing AI product behavior, where output quality and trust matter as much as whether a button works.
