QA and Safety Technician

We are seeking a QA and Safety Technician to add to our Quality and Safety team at the Indianapolis, IN manufacturing site. This role is a hands-on and directly impactful position focusing on product quality and facility/employee safety. In this role, the successful candidate will test and inspect products at various stages of the production process while compiling and evaluating statistical data to determine and maintain the quality and reliability of products. They will also inspect work areas, including staff, and equipment to ensure compliance with company, local, state and federal safety policies and regulations.

The role responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Interprets engineering diagrams (blueprints) and/or work SOPs, reviewing with management or engineering staff as needed, to ensure team compliance to quality and reliability standards; Tests products using various methods and tooling, i.e., calipers and tape measure, evaluates results, and contributes to the development and implementation of process improvements; Documents testing results and submits reports to appropriate party for validation or to indicate deviations from existing standards; Prepares graphs, charts, or data collected and enters data into computer for analysis; Partners with QAS Supervisor and Safety consultants to interpret Federal, State, and Local Environmental, Safety and Health standards to ensure site compliance; Maintains and enforces all quality standards and OSHA/IOSHA safe work practices; and Performs jobsite safety inspections, assists with the investigation of onsite incidents, completes reports, and conducts appropriate training when and as needed.

The successful candidate will possess an Associate's degree (AA/AS) or equivalent in an industry-related field from a two/four year college or technical school, or six months to one year of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience; current/previous working knowledge or familiarity of quality, safety, and process systems including federal/state/local safety regulations (i.e. OHSA and IOSHA); ISO procedures and auditing; six sigma or lean manufacturing and 6S, Microsoft Suite, D365 ERP system; some advanced mathematics ability, including algebra and geometry or others, for analysis purposes; current forklift certification and/or ability to obtain and maintain certification preferred; and be comfortable with both the working environment (non-climate-controlled warehouse) and physical requirements of the role (including lift/push/pull up to 50lbs+.)
