Overview and Strategic Philosophy

Our company emphasizes a proactive and efficient approach to quality assurance. The role is not merely about identifying bugs but about driving the entire QA lifecycle to ensure the integrity of the shipped product.

• Operational Balance: The role requires a blend of 70% automation and 30% manual testing efforts.
• Core Philosophy: The engineering culture centers on the "Fail fast, fail cheap, fail smart" principle. This strategy aims to identify gaps and diversions early in the development cycle through rigorous, early-stage testing to minimize downstream costs and technical debt.
• Ownership Model: As a high-ownership Individual Contributor role, the engineer is expected to lead QA initiatives independently, from initial requirement gathering through to final execution.

Required Tools & Skills

• Web/UI Automation- Proficiency in Selenium, Playwright, Cypress.
• Mobile Automation- Experience with Appium for both iOS and Android platforms.
• API & Integration- Expertise in Postman or RestAssured.
• Load & Performance- Ability to simulate traffic and assess system limits using JMeter or K6.
• Foundational Skills -Strong command of Core Java and experience with ERP systems.
• Testing Methodologies- Deep understanding of Black Box, Grey Box, and Integration testing.

Key Responsibilities and Lifecycle Management

The QA Automation Engineer is responsible for the end-to-end quality process. This involves high-level coordination and meticulous attention to detail.

• Lifecycle Driving: Ownership of requirement gathering, design, creation, and execution of test cases.
• Gap Analysis: Critical identification of diversions between the intended product requirements and the actual shipped product.
• Cross-functional Coordination: Effective communication and alignment within the immediate team and across other functional units to maintain high standards.
• Proactive Quality Assurance: Maintaining a high-standard, proactive approach within a fast-paced environment to prevent quality degradation.
