About the Role & Team / Project:
As a Junior QA Automation Engineer, you will join the SOC Automation Engineering team, part of the Managed Detection and Response (MDR) Engineering organization.
The team is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining security automation capabilities, workflows, and integrations that improve the efficiency, scalability, and effectiveness of Security Operations Center (SOC) services.
In this role, you will contribute to the development and quality assurance of our Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) Platform, working closely with Software Engineering, Product Management, Security Operations, DevOps, and Information Security teams.
This position offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in security automation, software development, and test automation, while helping deliver reliable, high-quality solutions that directly impact our security operations and MDR services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test cases for SOAR platform features, APIs, and integrations.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of SOAR workflows, automations, and platform components using Python.
- Execute automated and manual test activities to validate functionality, performance, and reliability.
- Create and maintain test plans, test scenarios, and testing documentation.
- Identify, document, and track defects, working closely with developers to ensure timely resolution.
- Support integration of automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to understand requirements and define test coverage.
- Assist in troubleshooting issues discovered during testing and validation activities.
- Contribute to technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Continuously improve test coverage, automation practices, and overall product quality.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and best practices in software testing, automation, cloud platforms, and cybersecurity.
Qualifications & Skills:
Must-have:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Basic knowledge of software development principles and object-oriented programming.
- Experience with or strong academic knowledge of Python or Java
- Understanding of software testing concepts, including functional, regression, integration, and API testing.
- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and tools.
- Knowledge of Git and version control practices.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and collaboration abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to software quality.
- Eagerness to learn security automation technologies and QA best practices.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with test automation frameworks such as PyTest, Playwright, Selenium, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
- Exposure to SOAR, SIEM, or other cybersecurity technologies.
- Understanding of SOC operations, incident response processes, and security best practices.
- Interest in AI/ML technologies and the integration of LLMs into operational workflows.
