QA Automation Engineer

Energy Aspects currently has an exciting opportunity available for a QA Engineer to join our team in Athens.

The successful candidate will be responsible for writing automated tests, debugging, and defining correct approaches. They’ll also create detailed test plans based on project requirements. Demonstrating success in this role involves leading the team’s QA initiatives and efforts to optimise quality control processes, minimise undetected defects, and enhance user satisfaction.

Technology Stack:
  • React, Next.js, MUI, design systems (storybook), Material UI, recharts and Highcharts
  • Understanding of REST and GraphQL, schema validation, API documentation apprehension (Swagger, OpenAPI, GraphQL introspection)
  • Developing automated tests using Playwright for React and Next.JS web applications
  • Collaborating with developers to identify bugs and issues early in the development process.
  • Creating detailed test plans based on project requirements.
  • Executing manual tests when necessary to validate code changes.
  • Participating in sprint planning meetings to provide input on testing efforts.
  • Working closely with product managers to ensure that user stories are thoroughly tested before release.
  • Regularly monitoring test results and promptly reporting any issues or concerns.
  • Staying updated on industry best practices for front-end QA testing.
  • Identifying areas for improvement within the QA process (including exploring and implementing AI-powered solutions to enhance testing efficiency and coverage).
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • At least 3 years of experience in front-end quality assurance testing
  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript programming languages.
  • Proficiency in using React and Next.JS frameworks for building and testing web applications.
  • Hands-on Playwright with solid grasp of Page Object Model, fixtures, and web-first assertions.
  • API testing — request/response interception, HTTP method/URL assertions, working with REST APIs and webhooks.
  • CI/CD experience —understanding of parallelization, scheduled pipelines, and multi-environment (dev/staging/prod) test execution.
  • Comfort with Git workflows, PR-based development
  • Solid QA fundamentals: designing regression/smoke suites, and systematic flaky-test triage.
  • Debugging skill — reading traces, screenshots, videos, res.

Desirable skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
  • Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail
  • Strong communication.
  • CTFL certification
  • Mobile testing hands on experience
  • Experience with AI-assisted testing tools or LLM-based
