QA Automation Engineer - Mid Level (Contract 1 Year)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Mid-Level QA Engineer / SDET to design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks that ensure exceptional product quality. In this role, you will lead the implementation of automated end-to-end tests across UI and API layers and actively integrate modern AI tools into the testing lifecycle—from AI-assisted test generation to self-healing scripts and intelligent test maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable end-to-end (E2E) automated test frameworks using Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium with TypeScript/Python.

• Implement robust automated API test suites to validate microservices, data integrity, and third-party integrations.

• Systematically leverage Generative AI and ML testing tools for automated test generation, smart locator recovery (self-healing scripts), and synthetic test data creation.

• Integrate test suites into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) to ensure continuous testing on pull requests and deployments.

• Partner proactively with developers and product managers early in the sprint to define acceptance criteria, mitigate risks, and prevent defects upstream.

• Conduct code reviews for test automation scripts, enforce clean coding practices, and provide guidance to junior QA engineers.

• Analyze test execution metrics, failure patterns, and report clear quality insights to stakeholders.

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).

• 2 to 5 years of proven experience in Software Quality Assurance with a strong focus on automated testing.

• Proficiency in test automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.

• Strong programming/scripting skills in TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, or Go.

• Practical experience with API testing and automation (REST, GraphQL, Postman, Newman, or code-based clients).

• Hands-on experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins).

• Demonstrated experience utilizing AI tools (e.g., LLMs, Copilot, Cursor, AI test assistants) to accelerate test creation and analysis.

• Solid understanding of Git workflows, Docker containers, and test environment setups.

• Analytical mindset with exceptional problem-solving and debugging skills.

• Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration in Agile environments.
