QA Automation Engineer
Summary
Mid-senior QA Automation Engineer joining migx's Data and AI Engineering team in Barcelona. You own test strategy end-to-end, build CI-integrated automated regression suites (Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress) and API tests (Postman, pytest + requests), and document bugs with the traceability expected in a life sciences consultancy's regulated environment.
You'll work across our applications and platforms to test features end-to-end, build and maintain automated test suites, and dig into bugs at the browser and API level. We're a life sciences consultancy, so documentation and traceability matter as much as catching the bug itself .
We welcome QA engineers who take as much pride in rigorous, well-documented testing as in finding the edge cases. What You’ll Do
- Own test strategy end-to-end for features and releases as defining scope from specs and user stories, designing test plans, and executing them systematically with minimal oversight.
- Build and maintain automated regression suites (Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress) integrated into CI, plus API-level tests (Postman, pytest + requests) that validate endpoints independently of the UI.
- Reproduce and document bugs at the request/response level using browser developer tools (Network, Console, Elements), including issues tied to sessions, tokens, and cookies in authenticated flows.
- Raise, triage, and track defects with clear severity classification, and drive them through to resolution.
- Coordinate regression testing cycles and UAT with business stakeholders ahead of releases.
- Produce clear documentation like process runbooks, incident reports (root cause, impact, timeline, resolution), and test strategy/spec documents ready for stakeholder sign-off.
- Collaborate with developers, product, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into testable, traceable acceptance criteria.
- Apply the traceability and version-control discipline expected of QA work in a regulated environment.
We’re committed to building a skilled and diverse engineering team. If you care deeply about writing clean code, delivering resilient systems, and collaborating across disciplines then this role is for you.
