Our client is looking for a Software Test Automation Engineer / SDET who is passionate about building high-quality, reliable software and using modern automation and AI assisted development practices to accelerate testing.Skills & Experience required
- 4+ years’ experience in software test automation engineering or SDET roles, with a strong track record of building, evolving and owning automation frameworks rather than primarily executing manual test plans.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong experience with at least one modern test automation framework, ideally Playwright, with Selenium, Cypress or Appium also considered.
- Proficiency in Python/TypeScript/JavaScript for developing and maintaining automated tests.
- Hands-on experience with API testing and writing SQL queries/assertions to validate data in relational databases.
- Experience using AI assisted development tools such as Cursor or Claude Code to generate, review, debug and maintain test code efficiently.
- Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, ideally with GitHub Actions, and experience integrating automated testing and quality gates into delivery pipelines.
- An understanding of IoT system architecture, spanning device, connectivity, cloud and application layers, with the ability to trace data flows end-to-end and identify potential points of failure.
- A willingness to work hands-on with physical IoT devices configuring devices, triggering test conditions and verifying that data flows correctly through to the platform.
