QA Automation Lead (Data Engineering) — EU-Based

Hands-on QA Automation Lead owning data quality and test automation for a long-term data engineering project with a US-based client. Day to day: defining data testing strategy, building automation frameworks, validating pipelines/ETL with SQL, integrating tests into CI/CD, and using AI/LLM tools to speed up test creation.
We are looking for a hands-on QA Automation Lead to own data quality and automation for a long-term project with a US-based client.
Key responsibilities
Define the data testing and automation strategy.
Build and maintain scalable automation frameworks.
Test backend systems, data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data transformations.
Validate data using complex SQL queries.
Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
Establish QA standards and review practices.
Manage release readiness and Go/No-Go decisions.
Use AI tools and LLMs to accelerate test creation and debugging.
Requirements
7+ years in QA and test automation.
Candidates should currently reside in Europe or be willing and able to relocate to Europe.
Strong Python and SQL skills.
Experience with data pipelines, ETL/ELT, data warehouses, and OLAP.
Experience with Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery, or similar technologies.
Proven experience designing automation frameworks.
Experience with CI/CD and release management.
Practical experience with AI tools such as Cursor, Augment, or Gemini.
Strong English communication skills.
