QA Bend Test Operator (2nd Shift Mon - Fri 1:30PM - 10:00PM)
Summary
Runs bend-testing equipment on 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 1:30PM-10:00PM) to visually inspect and mechanically stress-test CTC's ACCC Conductor Core, working in two-person teams moving reels up to 3,000 lbs. Uses electro-mechanical, pneumatic/hydraulic machinery, laser etchers, hand tools, and tablets for inspection reporting.
SUMMARY
The Bend Test Operator conducts visual inspection and mechanical stress-testing of CTC’s ACCC Conductor Core product. This role requires setting up and operating powered electro-mechanical machinery. Operators will utilize pneumatic-powered hydraulic systems, laser etching devices and mechanical power/hand-tools. The role operates in two-person teams that handle over-sized reels of material which weigh up to 3000 lbs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reads and interprets procedures, work instructions and guidelines.
- Setup and operation of bend testing equipment.
- Visual inspection of ACCC Conduct Core for appearance.
- Writes inspection reports and completes inspection documentation.
- Record data utilizing handheld tablet devices.
- Accurately converts measurement units (feet to meters).
- Ability to walk, stand, carry, and maneuver materials, kneel, bend at waist.
- Utilizes electrical pallet-jacks, fork-lifts, and counter-balance stacker to maneuver product.
- Utilize proper personal protective equipment during all required operations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Must have 1 year of experience in quality control/ quality assurance.
- Follow documented processes using best and safe practices.
- Use and operate measuring instruments, such as calipers.
- Familiar with quality paperwork and understand ISO and quality control processes.
- Maintain a high degree of integrity in recording quality issues.
- Willingness to cross train and share knowledge and skills with others.
- Housekeeping/maintenance of work area and machinery.
- Identify and initiate product and process improvements.
- Safety- and goal-oriented.
- Must be capable of lifting 50 lbs.
- Operate several types of forklift and pallet jacks.
- Perform in a team environment.
- Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
