Summary
QA Automation Engineer in Udupi, India who designs and maintains automated test scripts for web/API applications, runs functional, regression and integration testing, tracks defects, and integrates automated tests into CI/CD pipelines within an Agile team. Core stack: Selenium/Cypress/Playwright, Java/Python/JavaScript, Postman/Rest Assured, JIRA, and Jenkins/GitHub Actions/GitLab CI.
- Design, develop, and maintain automation test scripts for web and/or API based applications.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
- Collaborate with development teams to understand product requirements and create comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Identify, document, and track bugs and defects using issue tracking tools.
- Execute automated test suites and analyze results to ensure product quality.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Ensure proper test coverage and test documentation for all features.
- Work with CI/CD pipelines to integrate automated tests into the build and deployment process.
- Provide timely updates on testing progress, risks, and quality metrics.
- Continuously improve testing frameworks and QA processes.
- Contribute to shift-left testing by collaborating early in the development lifecycle.
Requirements
- 2-5 years of experience in Software Testing with strong exposure to Automation Testing.
- Experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar frameworks.
- Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
- Experience in API testing using tools like Postman, Rest Assured, or similar.
- Good understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with test management and defect tracking tools (JIRA,TestRail, etc.).
- Experience in CI/CD integration with tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate quality risks clearly.
- Willingness to work in a hybrid model with shift timings from 4:00PM to 1:00AM
- Experience in performance testing tools such as JMeter, Locust.
- Knowledge of BDD frameworks (Cucumber, SpecFlow).
- Experience testing microservices-based architectures.
- Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Exposure to AI-assisted testing tools (e.g., Copilot, Testim, Mabl, or similar).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
