About Game District

Game District is a leading mobile gaming company creating engaging gaming experiences for players worldwide. Join our team and contribute to delivering high-quality gaming products enjoyed by millions of players.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer (Test Automation) to take ownership of product quality, design effective test strategies, identify edge cases, and build reliable automated testing solutions. You will work closely with developers, designers, and product managers throughout the development lifecycle to ensure quality from feature development to release.

We are looking for someone who understands the product from the user's perspective and takes ownership of delivering a reliable gaming experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, review, and maintain test cases based on requirements, user stories, and design specifications.
  • Identify edge cases involving player behavior, network interruptions, device compatibility, and OS variations.
  • Develop and maintain automated test suites for UI, API, and gameplay or application flows.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable feedback with every build.
  • Define test strategies and quality standards for features, releases, and live updates.
  • Conduct exploratory, regression, performance, and compatibility testing.
  • Identify, document, and track bugs while collaborating with developers to resolve them.
  • Monitor quality metrics, including escaped defects, test coverage, and flaky test rates.
  • Mentor junior QA engineers and promote effective testing practices across teams.
  • Leverage AI and ML tools to improve testing efficiency while maintaining accountability for quality.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of professional QA experience, including at least 2 years of hands-on test automation experience.
  • Experience working at a product-based company; services and outsourcing experience alone does not meet this requirement.
  • Strong understanding of test design techniques and edge-case identification.
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Appium, Cypress, or similar frameworks.
  • Programming experience in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or C#.
  • Experience with API testing and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with test management and bug-tracking tools such as Jira and TestRail.
  • A degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience testing mobile, PC, or console games, preferably live-service or free-to-play games.
  • Familiarity with live operations, game events, patches, A/B testing, in-app purchases, gameplay mechanics, progression systems, game economies, and multiplayer features.
  • Experience testing consumer mobile or web applications with a large active user base.
  • Familiarity with Unity or Unreal testing tools, game telemetry, automated playtesting, or bots.
  • Experience with device farms such as BrowserStack, Firebase Test Lab, or AWS Device Farm.
  • Familiarity with App Store and Google Play release cycles.
  • Experience with performance and load-testing tools such as JMeter, k6, or Locust.

What Success Looks Like

  • Reliable automated tests integrated into CI/CD pipelines with a manageable, trusted flaky-test rate.
  • Effective quality gates for releases and live updates.
  • Early identification of risks before release.
  • Reduced escaped defects and continuously improving test coverage of core user flows.
  • Strong testing practices adopted by junior QA engineers.
  • Effective collaboration with developers and product teams to deliver high-quality products.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary package.
  • Health coverage and paid leave.
  • Opportunities to learn and experiment with new testing tools.
  • The opportunity to make a direct impact on live products used by players worldwide.
