QA Engineer

About us

Column Zero are looking to hire a junior/mid-range QA Engineer to join our in-house development team, located in either Brisbane CBD, or Brendale in Brisbane's north. CZ currently operates a hybrid working environment.

ColumnZero is a software development company specialising in building platforms for insurance underwriters to push boundaries and modernise the industry. We work directly with business leaders across our parent and sister companies to keep our custom-built Insurance Portal ahead of the game, servicing insurance brokers across Australia.

What you'll do:

• Perform manual and regression testing as part of the software delivery lifecycle

• Contribute to QA process improvements and provide feedback to enhance efficiency.

• Help implement and update requirements and testing documentation to ensure tests are comprehensive

• Coordinate with developers to support timely, stable releases

• Help prepare test environments and gather test data

• Learn and contribute to test automation

What we're looking for:

• At least 2 years of QA experience, ideally in an insurance, fintech, or compliance-heavy environment

• An understanding of test case design, positive/negative testing, and edge case handling

• A minimum foundational programming knowledge in PHP and JavaScript

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

• Good communication skills to liaise and collaborate with team members, department heads and stakeholders

• Familiarity with a GIT-based workflow

• Willingness to learn automated testing frameworks over time
