Role Overview
As a vital member of the team, the QA Engineer will play a key part in upholding the quality standards of the company's software throughout its development lifecycle. The responsibilities will encompass executing systematic test plans and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless product delivery.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Test Execution & Automation: Designing, executing, and automating test cases to verify software functionality, usability, performance, and security.
- Defect Management: Assessing and documenting test results with precision, taking the initiative in resolving identified issues, and reporting all necessary information to the engineering team.
- Release Ownership: Taking full ownership and responsibility when signing off new code to live/production environments.
- Strategy & Planning: Contributing to the development of test strategies, plans, and methodologies for the entire Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Framework Development: Designing and developing automated test scripts, frameworks, and tools to streamline the testing process.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure that quality is considered at every stage of software development.
- Continuous Improvement: Analyzing testing processes and proposing improvements, exploring new testing techniques, and suggesting ways to enhance overall software quality.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a relevant technical field.
- Experience: A minimum of 3+ years of proven experience in a QA Engineer position.
- Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of the Development and Defect Lifecycle, along with proficiency in test management software for streamlined processes.
- Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile frameworks and regression testing is highly desirable.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, robust analytical skills, effective time management, strong organizational capabilities, and outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
