- Support functional testing activities during sprint execution and contribute to in-sprint automation under guidance from senior team members.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress for web, API, and end-to-end validation.
- Create test cases, test scenarios, and test data for new functional requirements and system enhancements.
- Perform API testing using tools such as Postman or Rest Assured and support integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or Azure DevOps.
- Use programming or scripting languages such as Java or JavaScript to support test automation, with Python as an added advantage.
- Use quality management and tracking tools such as Jira, Zephyr, ALM, or TestRail to manage test execution, defects, and test documentation.
- Collaborate with developers, QA team members, product partners, and business SMEs in Agile and Scrum environments to clarify requirements and validate expected outcomes.
- Communicate test progress, defects, risks, and blockers clearly within the team and escalate issues when needed.
- Coordinate with offshore QA team members as needed to support test execution and automation deliverables.
- Analyse application behaviour, identify potential quality issues, and contribute to effective testing approaches for assigned features.
- Apply software testing principles, methodologies, and quality engineering best practices to improve test effectiveness.
- Stay current with relevant testing tools and automation practices and share improvement ideas with the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in software testing, including functional, integration, or end-to-end UI testing within eCommerce or similar digital platforms.
- Experience with automation testing using Java, JavaScript, Selenium, or similar tools.
- Working knowledge of automation frameworks or design patterns such as Page Object Model (POM) or Cucumber.
- Familiarity with modern automation tools such as Playwright or Cypress is preferred.
- Experience supporting automated test execution in CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins or Azure DevOps.
- API testing experience using Postman or similar tools, with the ability to validate service integrations.
- Working knowledge of Agile and Scrum development methodologies in cross-functional delivery environments.
- Experience using Jira, test case management tools, and basic database validation to support test execution, defect tracking, and quality reporting.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify risks, troubleshoot quality issues, and support effective test solutions.
- Experience working in retail or eCommerce domains, with understanding of customer-facing application quality and transaction flows.
- Exposure to modern automation tools such as Playwright, Cypress, or similar frameworks for UI and end-to-end testing.
- Experience supporting validation of APIs, microservices, or integrations in distributed application environments.
- Basic awareness of secure application testing practices and quality validation for security-related requirements.
- Familiarity with log analysis or troubleshooting tools such as Splunk to support defect investigation.
- Experience working in CI/CD-driven environments and supporting quality checks within release pipelines.
- Exposure to AI-assisted testing or productivity tools, such as Playwright enhancements, Copilot, or similar solutions.
- Willingness to learn new tools, explore testing improvements, and contribute practical ideas that improve quality engineering outcomes.
