QA Engineer

Discussion

Summary

Early-career QA Engineer (or Associate QA Engineer) at a Pittsburgh fintech company, testing a B2B product through manual and automated API/UI validation using Testim, Selenium, and RestAssured in DevOps pipelines, while leveraging AI-assisted tools like Copilot to expand test coverage. This is a 5-day onsite role in Pittsburgh, PA.

Wolfe is a Pittsburgh-based FinTech company building the next generation of financial products, and we are actively embedding AI across our product, our internal processes, and the way our teams work day-to-day. As a QA Engineer supporting our B2B product, you will help make sure what we ship to business customers works correctly the first time, designing and running both manual and automated tests with a focus on API and UI validation. You will work with AI-assisted testing tools as a normal part of the job, using them to expand coverage and shorten regression cycles rather than grinding through repetitive manual checks. This role suits someone early in their QA career who is curious about how software actually breaks and wants to build real automation skills alongside an experienced quality team. The title at hire will be QA Engineer or Associate QA Engineer depending on your experience and expertise. This is a 5-day onsite role in Pittsburgh, PA.
  • Test changes to the B2B product in lower environments and validate that those changes reached production correctly after deployment.
  • Write and maintain automated tests using our existing toolset (Testim, Selenium, RestAssured) and keep those suites running reliably in our DevOps pipelines.
  • Use AI-assisted tools to generate test cases, test data, and first-draft automation scripts, then review and correct that output before it enters the suite.
  • Build out automated regression and smoke test coverage for high-traffic B2B workflows, expanding scenario depth with AI-assisted test design tools like Copilot.
  • Convert customer-reported issues and support escalations into permanent scenario tests so the same problem does not resurface.
  • Participate in requirement and specification sessions to identify test scenarios and acceptance criteria before development starts.

Impact Statement:
For more clarity on the role, below are the success metrics and measurements for this role in the first 90 to 120 days.:
  • Complete onboarding on the B2B product and independently own the full regression pass for at least two releases, with documented results.
  • Add or update at least 20 automated test cases covering high-priority B2B workflows in Testim or RestAssured, all passing in the DevOps pipeline.
  • Convert at least 5 customer-reported or support-escalated issues into permanent scenario tests in the regression suite.
  • Produce at least 30% of new test artifacts (test cases, test data, scripts) using AI-assisted tools, each reviewed and passing in the pipeline before merge, building toward the team's 50% target by end of 2026.
  • 1 to 4 years of software quality assurance or test automation experience. Candidates at the higher end of that range with hands-on automation experience will be considered for the QA Engineer title.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software development, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Working knowledge of QA fundamentals: test case design, regression testing, defect lifecycle, and severity triage.
  • Exposure to at least one test automation tool (Testim, Selenium, RestAssured, Playwright, Cypress, or similar) and comfort reading and writing basic code or scripts.
  • Hands-on use of an AI coding or testing assistant (Copilot, Claude, Cursor, or similar) to write or extend tests, and the judgment to recognize when generated output is wrong.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ownership instinct to follow an issue through to resolution rather than handing it off.
