Location: Remote
Type: Full-Time
About the Role
We are looking for an analytical and detail-oriented QA Engineer to join our Trip Sight product team. In this unique role, you will go beyond traditional black-box testing by bridging the gap between manual exploratory QA, developer-centric testing (gray-box), and AI validation. You will play a critical role in ensuring our AI-driven travel solutions—from predictive itinerary planning to automated expense intelligence—are accurate, resilient, and user-friendly.
If you are passionate about the travel tech domain and want to be at the forefront of testing real-world AI applications, we want you on our team.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
1. AI & Data-Driven Testing (Travel Domain)
- Validate AI Models: Manually test and evaluate the outputs of AI/ML models within Trip Sight (e.g., dynamic pricing algorithms, personalized flight/hotel recommendations, and automated anomaly detection in travel expenses).
- Edge-Case Exploration: Design complex, real-world travel scenarios (e.g., multi-city disruptions, currency fluctuations, policy violations) to stress-test AI decision-making accuracy.
- Prompt & Output QA: Monitor and test AI chatbot or virtual assistant responses for context, safety, and relevance to corporate travel policies.
2. Developer & API Testing Collaboration (Gray-Box Testing)
- Shift-Left QA: Work directly with developers during the coding phase to review unit and integration test coverage, ensuring testability is built in from day one.
- API Validation: Execute manual API testing (using Postman, Swagger, etc.) to verify data flow between Trip Sight, third-party Global Distribution Systems (GDS), and internal microservices.
- Log Analysis: Investigate server logs, database entries, and developer consoles to pinpoint the root cause of defects before logging them.
3. Manual Exploratory & UX Testing
- End-to-End Workflows: Execute comprehensive manual tests across web and mobile platforms to ensure seamless user journeys for booking, approval, and expense reporting.
- Usability Advocacy: Act as the voice of the traveler and corporate travel manager, ensuring the UI/UX is intuitive and accessible.
- Release Management: Participate in agile ceremonies, author detailed bug reports, and perform rigorous regression testing prior to production deployments.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, preferably with a mix of manual testing and API/developer-testing collaboration.
- Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of the Travel and Hospitality technology ecosystem (e.g., flight/hotel booking engines, GDS like Amadeus/Sabre, corporate travel policies, or expense management).
- Technical Aptitude: * Proficient in API testing tools (Postman, REST Assured).
- Familiarity with reading and understanding code (Python, Java, or JavaScript) to collaborate effectively with developers.
- Experience querying databases (SQL) to validate backend data integrity.
- AI Awareness: A strong conceptual understanding of how AI and Machine Learning models work, with a mindset geared toward testing probabilistic outcomes rather than just deterministic ones.
- Methodology: Proven experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment with tools like Jira, Confluence, or Zephyr.
