The Opportunity:
Legacy Professional Services is seeking a QA/QC Engineer – CSLA to provide field-based quality assurance and quality control support for Civil, Structural, Landscape, and Architectural (CSLA) scopes on hyperscale data center construction projects.
In this role, you'll spend significant time in the field inspecting the construction of the site and building—from grading, drainage, underground utilities, foundations, and concrete through structural steel, exterior metal panels, fireproofing, architectural systems, and site improvements. You'll verify that work is being performed in accordance with project drawings, specifications, approved submittals, applicable codes, and owner quality requirements.
You'll work closely with QA/QC leadership, superintendents, field engineers, contractors, testing agencies, design teams, and client representatives to identify deficiencies, document field conditions, coordinate required inspections and testing, and verify corrective work.
This position is ideal for a construction professional with a broad civil, structural, and architectural background who understands how buildings and sites are constructed and enjoys being in the field ensuring the work meets project quality standards.
What You'll Do:
- Perform field inspections and quality observations for Civil, Structural, Landscape, and Architectural construction scopes.
- Verify field work is completed in accordance with project drawings, specifications, approved submittals, applicable codes, installation requirements, and owner quality standards.
- Inspect site development activities including grading, earthwork, drainage, underground utilities, backfill, compaction, paving, site concrete, and landscaping.
- Inspect foundations, footings, slabs, structural concrete, embeds, anchor bolts, equipment pads, and other concrete construction.
- Monitor structural steel erection, connections, alignment, bolting, welding, decking, and associated structural work.
- Inspect building exterior and envelope scopes including metal wall panels, roofing, waterproofing, sealants, flashing, penetrations, and related architectural systems.
- Monitor fireproofing installation and coordinate applicable inspections and testing.
- Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, material approvals, and installation requirements before and during field activities.
- Coordinate and witness required inspections, material testing, mock-ups, and special inspections with contractors, testing agencies, inspectors, and project representatives.
- Identify and document deficiencies, nonconforming work, and installation issues and communicate findings to the appropriate project team members.
- Track deficiencies and corrective actions through resolution and verify completed work in the field.
- Maintain accurate inspection reports, photographs, test documentation, deficiency logs, punch-list records, and other quality documentation.
- Monitor construction activities for recurring quality issues and communicate trends or concerns to QA/QC and project leadership.
- Coordinate with construction and MEP teams where CSLA work interfaces with equipment, penetrations, underground systems, supports, pads, and other building components.
- Support punch-list inspections, final inspections, closeout documentation, and phased turnover activities.
- Utilize Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM 360, Bluebeam, and other construction management platforms to document inspections and quality activities.
