QA/QC Lead Onsite
Job description
QA/QC Lead will be responsible for control activities for the project, ensuring all project deliverables meet the required standards and specifications. This role involves a team of discipline inspectors, including piping inspectors, mechanical inspectors, electrical instrumentation inspectors, and coating, insulation, and PFP inspectors and site quality admin. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive background in quality management within an EPC environment in the gas industry, along with excellent leadership and organizational skills.
Support and promote project HSSE requirements within QA/QC activities and inspections.
Reports to the Project Quality Manager and has a reporting line to the Quality Assurance Discipline Manager.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Assist with the implementation of the Project Quality Management System (PQMS) in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 and contract requirements.
- With direction, support the implementation of the project quality requirements in accordance with the PQP and contract.
- Support the implementation of the audit program to monitor adherence and identify improvements to the PQMS, including supplier and subcontractor audits as required.
- Lead and manage quality engineers and site inspection team including piping, mechanical, civil, electrical, instrumentation, and painting inspectors.
- Establish site inspection and surveillance program and ensure the activities are performed in line with the inspection test plan.
- Support CM in the interface quality on site with the contractors.
- Liaise with all site superintendents, field engineers, completions, and commissioning team.
- Responsible to ensure compliance with company specifications and certification.
- Review contractor QA/QC plans, ITPs, and procedures to ensure compliance with quality contract requirements.
- Assist with supplier/contractor management to ensure quality of supplier/contractor practices, product, and suitability of inspection and test programs.
- Substantiate the conformance of products. Identify and document any problems on the product conformity and where needed initiate, recommend, approve, or provide solutions to non-conformance and verify implementation of solutions and corrective action.
- Manage actions and non-conformance tracking databases and validate adequate investigation, follow-up, and corrective actions are implemented.
- Ensure all material arrived on site are inspected against MTC and any inspection issues are recorded in the OSDR log.
Skills and experience:
- Minimum 10 years quality management experience within the oil and gas industry.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Must be proactive and possess good interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Proficient in English language.
Educational experience:
- Degree educated.
- Professional accreditation preferred.
- Successful completion of ISO 9001:2015 lead auditor training or transition course, preferred.
