Role Overview

The QA/QC Project Superintendent leads field quality planning and execution for one or more commercial mechanical projects. The role establishes inspection discipline, develops project quality personnel, coordinates testing and turnover, drives deficiency closure, standardizes execution across projects, and partners with construction leadership to deliver complete, reliable systems and a strong customer experience. This position reports to the Manager - QA/QC & CX.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain project quality plans, inspection and test plans (ITPs), staffing, milestone reviews, checklists, documentation standards, and reporting cadence.
  • Lead development and implementation of project-specific Quality Kickoff directives aligned with contract requirements, company standards, and client expectations.
  • Lead and develop QA/QC Project Coordinators, Specialists, and Apprentices; coordinate quality responsibilities with Superintendents, Foremen, Project Managers, BIM, start-up, and controls teams.
  • Review contract requirements, drawings, specifications, submittals, manufacturer instructions, codes, commissioning plans, and customer standards.
  • Coordinate all required inspections, testing, pressure testing, flushing, cleaning, TAB readiness, start-up, controls checkout, commissioning, training, documentation, and final turnover.
  • Conduct and oversee first-work, mockup, in-process, concealed-work, equipment-readiness, prefunctional, turnover, and closeout inspections.
  • Participate in pre-construction, coordination, and turnover meetings.
  • Manage deficiency logs, priorities, ownership, due dates, escalation, verification, trend analysis, recurring-issue prevention, and milestone readiness.
  • Facilitate quality meetings, readiness reviews, issue-resolution sessions, lessons learned, and project-specific training.
  • Facilitate root-cause and corrective-action planning with project and field leadership; track implementation, verify closure evidence, evaluate effectiveness, and escalate unresolved or recurring conditions.
  • Conduct jobsite quality audits and work with Superintendents and Foremen to drive continuous improvement in field execution.
  • Report quality performance, compliance, deficiencies, and corrective actions to project and senior leadership; promptly escalate code, safety, concealed-work, repeated, schedule, warranty, or customer risks.
  • Build constructive relationships with general contractors, owners, designers, commissioning agents, inspectors, vendors, and trade partners.
  • Complete applicable role-based training, field demonstrations, and qualification requirements through the company's internal Quality Academy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Background

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States as sponsorship is not available
  • Minimum of 8 years in commercial mechanical construction, QA/QC, commissioning, start-up, or field leadership.
  • Advanced working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, piping, controls, equipment installation, testing, construction documents, and project sequencing.
  • Proven ability to lead inspections, manage deficiencies, coordinate commissioning milestones, influence field teams, and communicate with customers.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital planning, project-management, inspection, commissioning, document-control, dashboard, and reporting systems.
  • Valid driver's license, regular travel among assigned jobsites, and availability to support critical testing outside normal hours.
  • Bachelor's or associate degree in construction, engineering, quality, or a related field, or completion of a recognized mechanical apprenticeship. (Preferred)
  • 1 to 2 years leading quality personnel, field teams, testing, turnover, or major mechanical scopes. (Preferred)
  • OSHA 30 Construction plus ASQ, CxA, LEED, ICC, TAB, welding-inspection, medical-gas, or related certification. (Preferred)
  • Experience with Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Power BI, digital commissioning, or enterprise quality platforms. (Preferred)
  • Healthcare, data center, laboratory, manufacturing, industrial, or mission-critical project experience. (Preferred)
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.(Preferred)
