QA Specialist
Dedicated to supporting quality systems through the focused evaluation of raw materials used in the packaging process. This position requires attention to detail, data analysis, root cause analysis, critical thinking, and collaboration with internal teams and external suppliers to support consistent material quality.
Responsibilities:
· Oversee raw materials used to package final products and evaluate quality issues of materials.
· Evaluate materials at receiving, consumption on the production line, and within the warehouse.
· Create and process raw material quality holds.
· Understand packaging defects and non-conformances related to materials used for bottling.
· Understand how to use root cause analysis for material investigations.
· Use and understand AQLs and defect rates for data collection and evaluation of materials.
· Understand, at entry level, packaging and technical specifications for each raw material.
· Understand, at entry level, performance of bottle equipment for packaging materials.
· Understand suppliers name, location, and products manufactured for each raw material.
· Perform testing using raw material testing equipment.
· Communicate with internal departments material constraints created by material holds.
· Work closely with production and maintenance departments on material investigations.
· Communicate and maintain a good relationship with suppliers.
· Assist and participate in raw material trials and maintain notes from the trial.
· Perform weekly warehouse walkthroughs to evaluate FIFO practices and identify obsolete or unusable materials.
Requirements
• High school diploma/GED required
• Previous experience preferred in quality and/or inventory systems.
• Experienced in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and related tools.
• Previous experience preferred using a quality management system or ERP system.
· Required to sit, stand, and/or walk for extended periods of time.
· Must be able to frequently lift/lower, push, carry or pull 50 lbs.
· Ability to maintain single task focus and situational awareness.
· Must be able to always wear personal protective equipment in designated areas.
