QA Team Lead

Team Lead QA (Hands-on, iGaming) | Remote

We’re looking for a hands-on QA Team Lead who can balance team leadership with real QA engineering work — roughly 50/50.

You’ll lead and grow the QA team, shape quality processes, and set the direction, while also picking up tasks from the board and getting hands-on with testing and automation.

You’ll be working on a microservices-based iGaming platform, so solid iGaming QA experience is a must.

What you'll do

Leadership (around 50%)

• Lead and mentor the QA team, building a culture of ownership, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Define and own the test strategy, QA processes, and quality standards across products.
• Drive the adoption of automation and AI tools in QA, from test design and test data generation to bug analysis and reporting, and measure the impact on speed and quality.
• Run technical interviews and help hire and onboard new QA engineers.
• Plan and prioritise QA work together with the Product, Development, and Business teams, and keep testing scope aligned with release goals.
• Run knowledge sharing and keep testing documentation, frameworks, and best practices up to date in Notion.
• Own the bug lifecycle: triage, prioritisation, reporting, and retesting.

Hands-on QA (around 50%)

• Pick up and deliver QA tasks yourself, manual and automated.
• Design, build, and maintain automated test suites (UI and API).
• Use AI tools in your daily work to speed up test case writing, automation scripting, and test data preparation.
• Drive API and integration testing across microservices so that services, game providers, and payment flows work together end to end.
• Test core iGaming flows such as registration, KYC, deposits and withdrawals, wallet and balance logic, bonuses and promotions, game launches, and responsible gaming limits.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and set up quality gates.
• Run load and performance testing for critical services and peak-traffic scenarios.

What you bring

Must have

• Commercial QA experience in iGaming (casino, sportsbook, platform, or B2B provider side).
• Experience as a QA Lead, or as a Senior QA Engineer with real leadership responsibilities (mentoring, planning, hiring).
• Strong test automation skills in Python or Java (e.g. Pytest, Selenium/Selene, JUnit/TestNG, Allure).
• A track record of introducing or scaling test automation in a team, not just maintaining existing tests.
• Solid API testing experience (Postman, REST/SOAP, various authentication methods).
• Experience testing microservices and distributed systems, including integration and end-to-end testing.
• Experience with CI/CD (Jenkins or similar) and Git (GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket).
• Working knowledge of SQL databases (PostgreSQL preferred).
• Comfortable working hands-on and leading at the same time, in a fast-moving environment.
• Clear communication and the ability to prioritise and juggle several projects.

Nice to have

• Practical experience with AI tools in QA work (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or AI-based testing tools), and experience introducing AI into team processes.
• Experience testing payment/PSP integrations, game provider or aggregator integrations, or bonus engines.
• Load testing with JMeter or similar.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes (OKD), and RabbitMQ.
• Experience with PHP and React-based applications.
• MongoDB or Oracle experience.
