The Role: QA Technician I

The QA Technician I helps maintain clean, organized, and ready-to-use Switch facilities. You will perform routine cleaning, facility upkeep, material handling, and basic maintenance tasks across data center and support areas. This role works indoors and outdoors and requires following established safety procedures when using equipment, tools, and chemicals. You will work independently on assigned tasks and alongside other technicians to maintain facility standards. 2.docxDOCX

What You’ll Do

• Clean and maintain customer and employee common areas, data floors, office spaces, shipping and receiving areas, restrooms, hallways, and other assigned facility areas.
• Perform routine janitorial work, including vacuuming, trash removal, detailed cleaning, and room organization.
• Handle cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment according to established safety procedures.
• Use basic warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks and forklifts, as assigned.
• Dispose of cardboard, foam, pallets, and other facility waste.
• Make, replace, and maintain sticky mats throughout the facility.
• Clean plenum areas and complete daily perimeter walks.
• Monitor supplies and communicate when items need to be reordered.
• Complete basic facility upkeep, including changing sconce lights, tightening or replacing outdoor handles, and adjusting hydraulic door hinge speeds.
• Follow required PPE and environmental safety practices when working in field or warehouse areas. 2.docxDOCX

• You follow established procedures and safety requirements, especially when working with chemicals, tools, and equipment.
• You pay close attention to cleanliness, organization, and the condition of assigned areas.
• You communicate clearly when supplies are needed or facility issues need attention.
• You manage assigned work reliably and complete tasks on time.
• You can work independently while supporting the technicians around you.

What You’ll Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic janitorial or maintenance experience.
• Working knowledge of general workplace safety practices.
• Basic computer skills, including email and internal communication applications.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license.
• Reliable transportation to the work site.
• Ability to communicate in English as required to perform the duties described in the source role.
• Ability to regularly stand, walk, bend, carry supplies, use tools, and work from a ladder.
• Ability to frequently lift or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds, with reasonable accommodation as applicable.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors and wear required PPE.
• Ability to work extended hours during peak work periods when required.
