QA Technician
Summary
Inspect incoming materials and components against specifications, perform First Article Inspections, and troubleshoot quality issues to ensure products meet Legrand standards.
- Ensure all purchased material is reviewed & inspected for conformance against defined criteria using the necessary measurement and inspection equipment.
- Resolve nonconforming materials with the vendors and provide the support to production ensuring manufacturing processes are followed along with identifying and aiding in the troubleshooting of quality related issues.
- Inspect all incoming material to determine conformance with applicable drawings, specifications, and/or instructions
- Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) on new part submissions
- Records inspection results into defined repository
- Responsible for controlling, processing& resolving any conformance related materials issue with proper documentation
- Creates and or updates test plans as required
- Identifies the need for increased or reduced sampling based on historical inspection data. Proactively seeks out opportunities to improve the incoming inspection process
- Material movement of inspected items
- Assists in the Quality team in investigating, containing, and controlling material that is nonconforming
- Review operations' build processes and provide constructive feedback as necessary
- Effectively communicate information regarding product, quality
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with various departments including Production, Planning, Supply Chain, OPEX, Engineering Team
- Ensure the product is made to Legrand standards and take appropriate action, if needed
- Ensure that employees are using the correct tools, parts, and information they need to be fully productive
- Assist with Parts Quality Report (PQR), gauge instructions, capability data and gauge R&R studies
- Performs all duties in a timely manner, must be a team player, self-motivated, and attention to detail
- Adhere to all company policies, guidelines, and practices
Requirements
- Able to run reports, effectively present information and respond to questions
- Possesses Strong communication and relationship building skills
- Able to use Syteline or ERP, MQ1 and other systems
- Able to learn Microsoft office
- Work experience with Lean Manufacturing Concepts preferred
- Work experience with Quality Systems (AS9100, ISO9001) preferred
- Knowledge of standard wiring practices, IPC training or electrical certification preferred
- Proficient in reading engineering drawings/blueprints and BOMs
- Excellent verbal and written skills required
- Able to work independently
- Working knowledge of basic inspection (calipers, micrometers, functional gaging) equipment preferred
- Must be a team player, self-motivated, and attention to detail
- Able to put on personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection are required.
- Able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Able to lift and carry up to 34kg occasionally; ability to lift and carry up to11kg daily.
