You will perform functional and regression testing for legacy mainframe applications and their migrated .NET equivalents. You will validate CICS applications, batch jobs, files, databases, and generated outputs; develop UFT One automation; create and execute test cases; document and retest defects in Azure DevOps; analyze failures; and coordinate testing, planning, reviews, and migration-validation activities.
Responsibilities
- Perform functional and regression testing of legacy mainframe applications and migrated .NET applications
- Validate CICS-based Property Tax applications and compare functionality and data across environments
- Execute and validate mainframe and migrated batch jobs
- Validate VSAM files, GDG datasets, flat files, FTP processes, reports, email processes, database updates, sorting, and file conversions
- Analyze batch job logs and identify failures
- Perform backend data validation using DB2, SQL Server, IBM Data Studio, and SQL queries
- Compare records, files, database results, and generated outputs across environments
- Develop and maintain automated UFT One test scripts
- Maintain reusable automation components, object repositories, test data, and reporting
- Create and execute test cases based on legacy functionality and migration requirements
- Identify, document, retest, and track defects using Azure DevOps
- Perform root-cause analysis of application, data, environment, and migration issues
- Coordinate testing activities with County, Avanade, and distributed development teams
- Participate in test planning, execution, defect reviews, status discussions, and migration validation
Requirements
- 8+ years of Software Quality Assurance or Software Testing experience
- Experience with manual and automated testing
- Hands-on experience with OpenText UFT One or Micro Focus UFT
- Experience testing mainframe applications using CICS or TN3270 Terminal Emulator
- Knowledge of JCL, COBOL, DB2, VSAM, GDG, ISPF/TSO, and SDSF
- Experience executing and validating mainframe and migrated batch jobs
- Strong SQL skills for backend and database validation
- Experience with DB2 and SQL Server
- Experience validating flat files, fixed-length files, variable-length files, and VSAM files
- Experience with Azure DevOps for defect management and test execution
- Experience testing legacy-to-modern application migration projects
- Troubleshooting, defect-analysis, documentation, and communication skills
