About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented QA Test Engineering Intern to join our Quality Engineering team. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in software testing, automation, Agile development, and modern AI-assisted engineering practices while working on enterprise applications in the Financial Services domain.
The intern will work closely with experienced Test Leads and development teams, supporting manual and automated testing activities, learning industry best practices, and contributing to high-quality software delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and executing manual test cases based on business and functional requirements.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and smoke testing. Report, track, and verify software defects using defect management tools.
- Support automation testing initiatives using Java, JavaScript, and BDD frameworks (training will be provided where needed).
- Contribute to test data preparation and test environment validation.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Work closely with developers, business analysts, and QA engineers to understand application functionality and quality expectations.
- Learn and apply quality engineering best practices, including test planning, defect management, and test documentation.
- Gain exposure to CI/CD pipelines, GitHub, and modern software development workflows.
- Utilize AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude to improve productivity, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance test development.
Required Qualifications
- Pursuing or recently completed a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of Software Testing fundamentals and SDLC/STLC concepts.
- Basic knowledge of Java or JavaScript programming.
- Familiarity with SQL and relational databases.
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Eagerness to learn automation testing and quality engineering practices.
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar automation tools.
- Basic understanding of BDD frameworks such as Cucumber.
- Familiarity with Git/GitHub.
- Knowledge of REST API testing using Postman or similar tools.
- Basic understanding of CI/CD concepts. Awareness of AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude.
