JOB PURPOSE
Safely and efficiently tests and inspects products according to MAPEl's standards, using automatic and manual testing equipment, hand tools and instruments, in order to evaluate the properties of the raw materials and finished goods with the goal to assure the quality and reliability of products while adhering to all policies, procedures and instructions as defined in our Quality Management System (i.e. Corporate Methods and Procedures), or any other instruction issued by the company.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Communicate immediately to the Process Operator, Plant & Operations Manager, or any member of management all circumstances which may affect quality or are considered questionable and unacceptable.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and tidy work environment by properly identifying and storing ingredients, supplies and products, using various hand tools and equipment such as push brooms, mops, floor sweepers, cleaning chemicals, trash receptacles, etc.
• Set up and perform all necessary tests and inspections on the raw materials and products at specified stages in the production process, in order to determine variables, such as dimensions, performance, chemical and physical properties and other characteristics.
• Document data obtained during testing of raw materials or finished products by correctly logging the data in the QC records.
• Read and follow daily production schedule and instructions, organize retain samples, collect and check documents for incoming materials, if applicable.
• Participate in all quality activities, such as preparation and testing of lab batches, investigation of non-conformities, evaluation of alternative raw materials, preparation of various certificates.
• Communicate significant issues or developments identified during quality activities.
• Identify and resolve problems discovered during testing in a timely manner.

• Cooperate to control and reduce the quarantine stock and to define the best production sequence.
• Cooperate with Technical Service in the investigation and verification of complaints due to finished products.
• Ensure that laboratory equipment is well maintained and calibrated as per schedule.

QUALITY, HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT

The job holder is responsible to fully understand and develop all related Quality & EHS Management Procedures for use in Mapei. Thus, incorporating both Mapei Spa Corporate Procedures and Mapei Local QMS & EHS Procedures related to their specific activities. These procedures form the foundation, under which all the Mapei companies’ activities are conducted, The QHSE Induction program, as issued by the responsible department head/department manager. The understanding of these procedures will be assessed periodically by QAHSE Manager.

• Provide IMS information, training, and supervision.
• Assist and review with risk assessments, environmental aspect impact assessments and briefing the same to employees.
• Reporting of issues, hazards, and incidents in terms of quality, environment, health, and safety.
• Request and control PPE for MAPEI, outsourced staff and 3rd parties working in his area of responsibility.
• Ensure workers following procedures and wearing PPE based on requirements.
• Apply PTW system for non-routine activities.
• Monitor activities of 3rd parties within his area of responsibility.
• Follow the procedures for machinery operations, chemicals storage and handling, waste management, traffic management.
• Conduct TBT regularly for workers (outsourced and 3rd party) regarding workplace requirements, quality, environment, and safety procedures.
• Conduct regular workplace inspections, HSE tours in cooperation with QAHSE department.
• Issue maintenance requests to ensure that workplace is in proper and safe condition in terms of environment, health, and safety.
• Maintain good housekeeping at workplace.
• Report any accident, incident, near miss in terms of environment, health, and safety to line manager and QAHSE department.
• Inspect regularly spill and first aid kits together with First Aider and spill responders.
