QC Inspector
Job Title: Quality Control Inspector
Department: Base Operations and Support
Job Summary:
The QC Inspector is responsible for conducting quality control inspections, assuring performance objectives and standards identified in this contract are met by monitoring and evaluating the Quality Program, recommending corrective actions when problems are detected, and following up to ensure that proper training and improved procedures have been implemented. The Quality Control Inspector has responsibility and accountability for verification of the quality control program, safety compliance, environmental compliance, and coordinating training of personnel.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Inspect work performed to ensure appropriate quality.
- Maintain records of inspections and certifications.
- Examine processes for preventative and corrective maintenance; make suggestions based on finding.
- Schedules/perform inspections/re-inspections to ensure problems have been resolved.
- Conduct over the shoulder (work in progress) maintenance quality control inspections.
- Conduct customer satisfaction surveys regarding work completed on-site.
- Gather monthly inspection data and prepare and submit reports to Quality Control Manager for comparison to contract.
- Communicate with management regarding feedback from inspections and customer related issues to ensure contract compliance.
- Conduct supervisor and employee training regarding company policies and procedures involv-ing quality control inspections.
- Research quality related information; incorporate information into policies and procedures.
- The QC Inspector shall be on site during the Government’s regular working hours, however, may be required to work off hours to accomplish the role.
- Use the DMLSS system to extract and input maintenance records, search for scheduled maintenance orders, and print reports.
- Oversee implementation of this QC program.
- Monitoring the workplace to identify and correct nonconforming conditions and improper or unsafe work practices.
- Overseeing implementation of project and company QC policies and procedures.
- Interfacing with the Quality Control Manager and corporate management to keep them in-formed of the status of the quality program and to report any adverse conditions.
- Ensuring that deficiencies are reported and recorded, and that work orders are not closed out until corrective actions are taken or a new work order is generated.
- Ensuring documentation of the effectiveness and timeliness of corrective actions.
- Reviewing documents for accuracy, completeness, and the soundness of conclusions.
- Overseeing implementation of client’s satisfaction measurement process.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Minimum of three years’ experience with quality control or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and proficiency with standard testing tools.
- Ability to conduct quality control inspections.
- Have a background in facility operation and maintenance, construction, or a related field.
- Must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of NFPA, OSHA and PPE procedures.
- Proficient written and oral communication skills according to skill requirements.
- Possess strong computer skills, able to read, write, and comprehend written instructional documents.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office productivity suite and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Must be able to clear all requirements to enter US-Base.
