Quality Control (QC) Manager

in a

precision machining

. Experience requires 5 to 10+ years in precision engineering with deep knowledge of GD&T, CMM operations, and metrology.

Core Job Scope & Responsibilities

  • Quality Management System (QMS): Maintain and update compliance standards like ISO 9001, ISO 13485, or AS9100.
  • Inspection & Metrology Oversight: Manage incoming, in-process, and final inspection gates, including CMM programming and precision tools.
  • First Article Inspection (FAI): Oversee and approve FAI reports and new product introduction (NPI) documentation for high-tolerance parts.
  • Defect & Root Cause Analysis: Handle non-conformance reports (NCR), leading corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) via 8D or 5-Why methodologies. [1, 3]
  • Team Leadership: Train, mentor, and schedule the daily work of QC inspectors and quality engineers.
  • Supplier Quality: Monitor supplier performance, qualify new vendors, and lead external vendor audits.

Required Experience & Competencies

  • Technical Background: Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Precision Engineering.
  • Experience Level: 5–10+ years working in quality control within a CNC machining or metal manufacturing setting.
  • Core Skills: Advanced blueprint reading, Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) usage.
  • Problem-Solving Tools: Practical command of Statistical Process Control (SPC), CpK, Gage R&R, and FMEA.
