QC Plant Technician (STP)

The primary responsibility of the QC Plant technician is to conduct standardized qualitative & quantitative testing of printed roll stocks to ensure it meets internal/external customer’s specifications.

DESCRIPTION

  • Ensure that Food Safety and Quality standards are being adhered to and maintained throughout the plant
  • Prevent out of specification product from being released to internal/external customers.
  • Perform line changeover testing and sample review to validate job setup is approved to run and deliver product that meets customer standards.
  • Continuously inspect product output of all assigned machines, looking for print visual defects and ensuring color measurement parameters are within the acceptable ranges-as defined by test frequency.
  • Collect and deliver retained samples for each job.
  • Audit all operation quality checks are being performed and at the required frequency.
  • Perform all tasks with a sense of urgency and accuracy.
  • Reports all quality and food safety issues to supervisor.
  • Conduct other duties as assigned by management.
  • Communicates with press department’s manager, lead, and operator on quality anomalies.
  • Documents and records quality defects encountered through shift.

COMPETENCIES

  • Ability to work independently or with a team and communicate effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
  • High level of visual awareness
  • Basic computer skills, including the use of excel
  • Proficiency in basic arithmetic operations
  • Multi-task and work in a fast paced environment

EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 1 year of experience inspecting products
  • Preferred experience in food packaging or processing

PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Able to lift, carry, push or pull 40 lbs as needed (retained samples program)
  • Comfortable working in environments with elevated temperatures, high noise levels, and exposure to odors commonly associated with material production processes.
