QC Supervisor - Electrical
General Characteristics (Job Summary)
- Responsible for planning and controlling quality activities in given particular disciplines in accordance with quality management system established by QC Manager.
- Plan, control and perform inspections and tests on discipline Responsible and managing inspectors in the disciplines for which they are responsible.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Prepare Quality Procedure and Inspection Test Plan.
- Manage work performance on particular discipline as per applicable work process.
- Manage actual result of Quality Performance Indicator.
- Co-ordinate and monitor with other discipline required to provide corrective action.
- Liaise and solve with clients on Quality related matters such as Quality Issue and NCR, Observation.
- Manage work activity through system management tool (FMCS, SCMS).
- Submit TWLA (Two week look ahead) Schedule for inspection.
- Review all method of statement prepared by site engineer.
- Review and submit test procedure for Fire Alarm and Detection System.
- Review and submit test procedure of BMS and DDC System.
- Review and submit test procedure of KNX Lighting Control.
- Prepare special procedure and submit for MV cable splicing and termination.
- Prepare special procedure and submit for Energization of Electrical System.
- Prepare and submit Energization package.
- Maintain inspection and testing records.
- Preparation of ITP as per project Specification and applied standard.
- Preparation of RFI (request for inspection) summary, LBE (Log Book Entry) log, INCR (Internal Non-Conformity Report) log. SA-NCR (Non-Conformity Report) log and submit to QA Manager for monthly report.
- Manage / attend as QC Supervisor for the external 3rd party audit on 15% and 60 % of construction completion.
- Develop and maintain inspection procedures and techniques, throughout the construction, precommissioning and commissioning stages.
- To ensure usage of accurate and calibrated tools and meters for inspection and measurements. Report on daily inspection and testing activities.
- Initiate Non-Conformance Reports in case of nonconformity to project quality plan/ the specification or procedural requirements are not met.
- Preparation and analysis of Non-Conformance Report if any, in consultation with PM.
- To ensure timely action of any comments/ complaints by the Contractor/ Consultants/ Client and closing of observation reports and NCRs.
- To initiate Corrective Action Request (CAR), Non-Conformity Report (NCR) to prevent recurrence of Non-Conformities or Violations and to verify implementation and effectiveness of Corrective Actions before Its closure.
- Ensure weekly/monthly QA/QC Logs are prepared/report to PM, QA/QC Manager.
- To respond in writing to Corrective Action Request, Non-compliance Report issued by Client.
- Co-ordination with Consultant/ Contractor’s QC Engineer / coordinators on all aspects of site inspections.
- To conduct surveillance on the inspection tests required in the technical provisions of the specification.
- Ensure to perform and witness testing required at sub-vendor’s premises/ approved independent testing laboratory as and when required.
- Ensure timely inspection of all materials/ equipment delivered and complete installations at site, coordinating with consultant’s inspectors, contractor’s coordinator, Project Engineer/Site Engineers and maintain records.
- To ensure that all testing and measuring instruments are calibrated as per standards/ requirement and maintaining records of calibrations.
- Participate QC tool box talk and training to Engineers and Supervisors.
- Participate in Internal quality audit and submit report to QA/QC Manager.
- Attend all Quality related meeting with Project Manager and Team.
- Documents preparation/review for Pre-commissioning procedures.
- Implementation of Contract Quality Plan (CQP) and Construction Quality Procedure (QPR), and Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).
- To identify and maintain Quality Record to demonstrate specific quality requirements and Audit Files and to include it in Monthly Quality Management Report.
- Lead and supervise Quality Inspectors and subcontractor’s QC Inspectors.
- To prepare, review and modify look-ahead schedule of all planned, critical and complex quality activities during construction and pre-commissioning phases.
- Maintain Monthly Quality Management Report, Construction Inspection Record Book (IRB), Material Preservation Handling and Storage Records, Project Document Control Register (PDCR) and quality documents (CQP/ITP/QPR/QSP), technical specification, IFC drawings.

- From project start to completion
Knowledge
- Technical knowledge in particular discipline and familiar with related international codes and standards.
- Investigate and analyze quality issues based on related international codes and standards so that suggesting resolution.
- Skills enough to establish process and system to utilize FMCS and SCMS enabling systematic quality control and conduct training for its operating.
- Capability of quality system establishment and implement for small scale project (below 0.5 billion dollar).
