QS Manager (M&E)
Roles & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Quantity Surveying team for multiple M&E projects.
- Oversee the preparation and review of Bills of Quantities (BQ), cost estimates, and tender submissions.
- Review M&E design proposals and provide commercial input during the design development stage.
- Collaborate with the Design, Engineering, BIM, and Project teams to ensure cost-effective and buildable design solutions.
- Lead value engineering and cost optimization initiatives.
- Monitor design changes and assess their impact on project cost, procurement, and project profitability.
- Manage procurement strategies, subcontractor evaluations, and commercial negotiations.
- Oversee contract administration, progress claims, variation orders, and final accounts.
- Monitor project budgets, forecasts, cash flow, and overall commercial performance.
- Mentor and develop the QS team.
Requirements
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in M&E quantity surveying.
- Strong experience in BQ preparation, tendering, cost planning, contract administration, and final accounts.
- Strong understanding of M&E design, Design & Build (D&B) project delivery, and engineering coordination.
- Ability to review M&E design drawings and provide commercial and cost management advice throughout the design process.
- Experience in value engineering and cost optimization.
- Familiarity with Singapore standard forms of contract is preferred.
- Experience with BIM-based quantity take-off and cost management software is an advantage.
- Excellent leadership, commercial, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
