Job Summary
Manage subcontractor and supplier sourcing, cost evaluation, and contract negotiation to optimize procurement processes and ensure cost-effective project delivery within the Singapore construction sector.
Responsibilities
- Source, invite, and compile quotations from subcontractors and suppliers for materials, equipment, and specialized trade works to support project procurement.
- Perform detailed cost comparisons, quantity take-offs, and budget analyses to evaluate tenders against budgeted allowances for informed decision-making.
- Conduct commercial negotiations with vendors to secure competitive pricing, favorable payment terms, and strong contractual clauses.
- Prepare, draft, and finalize letters of award, subcontract documents, and supply agreements in compliance with industry-standard templates.
- Monitor market trends, material price fluctuations, and alternative suppliers to optimize company cost-efficiency and procurement strategies.
Required competencies and certifications
- Apply professional knowledge in Building Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related fields supported by a Professional Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent qualification.
- Utilize 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying and procurement within the Singapore construction sector to manage procurement effectively.
- Demonstrate proficiency in quantity take-off software and Microsoft Excel to manage complex cost matrices accurately.
- Apply knowledge of local construction procurement processes, standard contract forms (e.g., SIA, PSSCOC), and material specifications to ensure compliance.
- Employ strong negotiation, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills to manage vendor relationships and procurement outcomes.
