behalf of our client, we are looking for competent, skilled, and
experienced Project Manager to work in Uganda.
JOB
SUMMARY
The
Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering
projects within scope, time, and budget while ensuring alignment with
organizational goals. This role involves managing teams, collaborating with
stakeholders, mitigating risks, and delivering high-quality solutions. The
ideal candidate possesses a strong background in project management
methodologies, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to adapt to dynamic
environments
DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project
Planning and Execution:
- Define project
scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Develop
detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource
allocation.
- Monitor project
progress and ensure adherence to schedules and budgets.
Team
Leadership and Collaboration:
- Lead
cross-functional teams, ensuring clear communication of project goals and
responsibilities.
- Facilitate
collaboration between developers, designers, QA, and business
stakeholders.
- Provide
coaching and mentorship to team members to ensure professional growth.
Stakeholder
Management:
- Act as the
primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing updates on project
progress and addressing concerns.
- Build strong
relationships with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure
alignment.
- Manage
expectations and ensure project objectives are met.
Risk
Management:
- Identify
potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address them
proactively.
- Monitor project
risks and implement changes as needed to minimize impact.
- Prepare
contingency plans for unforeseen challenges.
Agile
Project Management:
- Implement and
promote Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
- Conduct daily
stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
- Ensure
continuous delivery of value through iterative project cycles.
Resource
Management:
- Allocate
resources effectively, balancing team workloads and project priorities.
- Ensure optimal
utilization of team members’ skills and expertise.
- Manage project
budgets, including forecasting and tracking expenses.
Quality
Assurance:
- Ensure
deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations.
- Oversee testing
processes and coordinate with QA teams to resolve issues.
- Drive
continuous improvement initiatives for process and product quality.
Reporting
and Documentation:
- Prepare
detailed project reports, including status updates, progress metrics, and
post-project evaluations.
- Maintain
comprehensive documentation for project artifacts, decisions, and lessons
learned.
- Present project
outcomes and insights to leadership and stakeholders.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS,
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years of
experience in project management or related roles.
- Strong
understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum,
Waterfall).
- Proven track
record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within
budget.
- Proficiency
with project management tools like Jira, Trello, or Microsoft Project.
- Exceptional
communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong
problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Experience
managing cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of
software development lifecycles, particularly for web and mobile projects.
- Analytical
Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills to provide actionable feedback.
- Communication
Skills: Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Local Context
Understanding: Awareness of user behaviours, preferences, and challenges
in Uganda.
