Summary

Quality Assurance Engineer focused on building and maintaining Playwright-based automation frameworks and performance test suites. The role involves end-to-end testing of web UI and API layers, integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines, and collaborating with cross-functional teams using JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL, and Docker.

The Quality Assurance Engineer specializing in automation testing plays a key role in building and maintaining robust Playwright-based automation frameworks and performance test suites. This role ensures the delivery of scalable, high-quality software that supports business objectives around customer satisfaction and platform reliability.
  • Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end automation frameworks using Playwright with JavaScript.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, architects, and product owners to understand application designs and translate specifications into comprehensive automated test coverage.
  • Perform functional and end-to-end testing on web UI and API layers, validating features against acceptance criteria before, during, and after automation coverage.
  • Implement and monitor automated functional, regression, smoke, and performance test suites for web applications and RESTful services.
  • Configure, run, and monitor test execution in cloud and containerized environments (Docker, cloud hosted runners).
  • Conduct performance and load testing to identify bottlenecks and validate application scalability. Develop test strategies, plans, and cases that ensure thorough coverage across functional, integration, and API layers.
  • Integrate automated suites into CI/CD pipelines and drive shift-left quality practices.
  • Coordinate with development and deployment teams to triage defects, resolve issues, and enable bug-free product releases. Generate and present sprint-level summary reports (Allure, HTML reports) highlighting test results, coverage, flakiness, and improvement areas.
  • Mentor peers on Playwright best practices, test design patterns, and framework contributions.
  • 5–7 years of hands-on experience in automation testing with strong expertise in Playwright. Strong coding skills in JavaScript / TypeScript with strong fundamentals in ES modules, async/await, and promises.
  • Proficiency building test frameworks using Playwright with runners such as Playwright Test, Cucumber-JS (BDD), Mocha, or Jest, and package management with npm or yarn Experience with REST API test automation using JavaScript/TypeScript (Playwright APIRequest, Supertest, Axios) or equivalent tooling in Python.
  • Strong manual and functional testing skills, including test case design, exploratory testing, and defect triage across web and API layers. Solid grasp of functional testing techniques — boundary analysis, equivalence partitioning, positive/negative flow validation, and end-to-end scenario coverage.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions, including pipeline authoring and parallel test execution.
  • Solid understanding of SQL and hands-on experience with data validation and back-end data testing.
  • Familiarity with reporting tools such as Allure, and version control workflows using Git.
  • Working knowledge of Docker and running automation in containerized or cloud environments.
  • Exposure to observability tooling (logs, metrics, traces) to debug flaky or failing tests.
  • Experience testing data platforms, ETL pipelines, or data-mesh style architectures.
  • Contributions to internal frameworks, page-object libraries, or open-source QA tooling.
