The Quality Assurance Coordinator is responsible for supporting dnata Catering USA’s Food Safety and Quality Assurance programs by ensuring compliance with HACCP, FDA, USDA, FSMA, airline customer requirements, and company standards. This role conducts routine inspections, audits, and quality verification activities throughout the facility while partnering closely with Operations, Culinary, Supply Chain, and Production teams to maintain the highest levels of food safety, product quality, and regulatory compliance.The Quality Assurance Coordinator serves as a key resource in promoting a culture of food safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. This position supports employee training, audit readiness, corrective action implementation, product quality monitoring, and food safety compliance across all operational areas.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIESFood Safety & Regulatory Compliance
Conduct daily operational inspections throughout production, assembly, receiving, warehousing, and transportation areas.
Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, FSMA, state, local, airline customer, and company food safety requirements.
Verify adherence to HACCP plans, Critical Control Points (CCPs), prerequisite programs, and food safety procedures.
Review and verify HACCP documentation completed by Production, Culinary, Receiving, and Assembly teams.
Monitor compliance with GMPs, sanitation programs, allergen controls, traceability requirements, and food handling procedures.
Support food defense, food fraud, and recall readiness programs.
Quality Assurance & Operational Auditing
Conduct routine process audits and quality inspections to verify compliance with operational specifications and customer requirements.
Review recipes, production specifications, SOPs, SSOPs, and operational procedures for compliance.
Perform product evaluations on raw materials, work-in-process items, and finished products.
Conduct label reviews to ensure ingredient declarations, allergen statements, and product specifications are accurate.
Assist in maintaining current product specifications, ingredient records, and labeling documentation.
HACCP Program Support
Support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of HACCP and Food Safety Management Programs.
Participate as a member of the HACCP Team and support food safety initiatives throughout the facility.
Verify calibration of thermometers, scales, and monitoring equipment in accordance with established procedures.
Assist with food safety program verification, validation, and monitoring activities.
Maintain food safety documentation and records to support audit readiness.
Training & Employee Engagement
Conduct food safety, hygiene, sanitation, GMP, allergen awareness, and HACCP training sessions.
Provide floor-level coaching and reinforcement of food safety standards.
Conduct daily food safety briefings and support ongoing employee education efforts.
Promote awareness and ownership of food safety and quality standards throughout the operation.
Audits, Investigations & Corrective Actions
Assist with internal audits, airline customer audits, regulatory inspections, and third-party assessments.
Investigate food safety and quality concerns and assist with root cause analysis.
Support development and implementation of Corrective Action and Preventive Action (CAPA) programs.
Monitor completion and effectiveness of corrective actions.
Participate in mock recalls, traceability exercises, and audit preparation activities.
Product Testing & Quality Monitoring
Perform microbiological, environmental, and product testing as required by company programs and customer specifications.
Monitor quality trends and report findings to Quality Assurance leadership.
Maintain testing documentation and quality records.
Support environmental monitoring and sanitation verification programs.
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve food safety, product quality, compliance, and operational effectiveness.
Analyze audit results, inspection findings, customer feedback, and quality trends.
Recommend process improvements that strengthen food safety and quality performance.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Biology, Microbiology, Food Technology, Quality Assurance, or related field preferred but not required .Associate Degree with equivalent food safety or quality assurance experience may be considered.
Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in Food Safety, Quality Assurance, Food Manufacturing, Airline Catering, Food Processing, Commissary Operations, or related food production
environment.
Experience working in a HACCP-regulated environment preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS
Working knowledge of HACCP principles and food safety systems.
Understanding of FDA, USDA, FSMA, GMP, sanitation, and allergen management requirements.
Experience conducting inspections, audits, and quality checks preferred.
Knowledge of GFSI-recognized food safety standards (SQF, BRCGS, FSSC 22000) is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced operational environment.
Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as operational needs require.

Work Environment
The essential functions of this position are performed in production kitchens, assembly areas, receiving docks, warehouses, office environments, and refrigerated storage areas.
