Overview

The QA Engineer is responsible for independently planning, executing, and maintaining testing activities to ensure product quality and release stability. This role requires strong analytical skills to understand technical specifications, identify risks, and ensure that all functionalities meet defined requirements.

The QA Engineer collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, contributes to automation efforts, and proactively works to prevent issues by providing feedback on user experience and product behavior.

Responsibilities

• Understand technical requirements and specifications; identify ambiguities, gaps, and potential risks.
  
• Independently define, execute manually, and maintain test strategies and test plans.
  
• Select and perform appropriate types of testing based on project needs (regression, exploratory, smoke, sanity).
  
• Write, execute, and maintain detailed test cases and scenarios.
  
• Create detailed bug reports including clear reproduction steps, expected vs. actual behavior, and supporting documentation (screenshots, recordings).
  
• Validate reported bugs and verify fixes after implementation.
  
• Track defect status and ensure proper lifecycle management through resolution.
  
• Participate in sprint ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and planning meetings.
  
• Collaborate closely with QA, Development, Product, and Support teams.
  
• Proactively identify potential issues and provide feedback on user experience and feature behavior.
  
• Write and maintain automated tests in alignment with project requirements.
  
• Maintain and update regression test suites.
  
• Perform other work-related tasks as assigned by the Employer’s Director or the Employee’s direct supervisor.

• Fluent English skills (written and spoken).
  
• 3–5 years of software testing experience.
  
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  
• Experience defining and executing manual test strategies and plans.
  
• Experience with regression, exploratory, smoke, and sanity testing.
  
• Experience writing clear and structured bug reports.
  
• Hands-on experience in writing and maintaining automated tests.
  
• Experience testing web and/or mobile applications.
  
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  

Preferred Skills

• Experience working in a SaaS environment.
  
• Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution in continuous integration environments.
  
• Familiarity with test management and bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, or similar).
  
• Understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  
• Experience with API testing (e.g., Postman or similar tools).
  
• Exposure to performance or security testing concepts.
  
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  
• Ability to analyze logs and assist in basic troubleshooting.
  
• Previous experience mentoring junior QA engineers.
