Quality Assurance Engineer

Summary

The Quality Assurance Engineer supports manufacturing operations by ensuring product quality, managing defect-reduction activities, and overseeing direct reports. The role requires expertise in LeanSigma methodologies and Six Sigma to drive process improvements and resolve quality issues.

• Provide quality assurance support to plant and customer service.
• Individual contributor
• Supports manufacturing plant with quality assurance support to ensure product is built in accordance with customer and company specifications while maintaining smooth production flow.
• Supervise and oversee activities and responsibilities of direct reports.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that product quality is attained through fulfillment by following workmanship standards and quality program requirements.
• Identifies and reports quality problems.
• Recommends and implements preventive and corrective action to quality and/or manufacturing issues.
• Reviews all related quality documentation and approves as appropriate to ensure product quality.
• Generates, leads and implements defect-reduction activities.
• Works with manufacturing and purchasing to process all material rejects.
• Works with vendors on non-conformances as well as material improvements.
• Works with customer service to find resolution to customer issues.
• Provide product support to outside sales.
• Contributes to all process/product improvement implementations.
• Facilitate brain storming activities

Qualifications

• Ability to lead continuous improvement project
• Ability to participate and/or facilitate Kaizen events.
• Possess a Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Understands and can demonstrate knowledge of LeanSigma methodologies.
• Experience in supervision.
• ASQ Certifications

Education

  • BS degree in Engineering or 3+ years of quality engineering or manufacturing experience.
