QA Engineer builds and runs manual and automated tests for trading systems using Python, ensuring end-to-end quality of front-to-back capital-markets applications.

Quality Assurance at Squarepoint is a team of Quality Assurance Engineers who work both on manual testing as well as automation. We believe in ownership of overall quality of front to back applications, striving to improve efficiency by automation, collaborating across teams.


Responsibilities



  • Be responsible for front to back testing and test environment maintenance, interacting with support team

  • Learn business lifecycle of listed and non-listed products from Business Analysts and Users, interact with external vendors, brokers, exchanges certifying the front to back flow

  • Drive automation by developing and maintaining automation frameworks for applications across technology like data services, position keeping and risk management


The candidate must be comfortable working in a rapidly changing environment with short deadlines, a need for high quality reliable deliverables and strong communication with global colleagues


Position Overview



  • Perform manual or automated testing on firm's technology applications to ensure that system meets quality standards

  • Collaborate with development, business analyst and stakeholders to define and execute test plans

  • Acquire knowledge and understanding of trade life cycle of capital markets and products


Typical Day of a Quality Assurance Engineer



  • Design test artifacts based on project requirements, perform end to end testing, defect tracking and reporting

  • Perform certifications and conformance testing with brokers/exchanges

  • Maintain test environment, identify areas of improvements, identify areas of automation, develop automation scripts

  • Collaborate with teams globally to ensure effective communication throughout the testing process


Required skills



  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, physics or mathematics

  • 1.5 - 5 years experience in a Quality Assurance/Test Engineering role

  • Strong Proficiency in Python

  • Understanding of trading systems/financial domain with experience in testing front office, back office or risk applications

  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with colleagues across multiple regions

  • Experience working in Linux based environments
