How (to land the job!): The process typically begins with an introductory call with a member of our Talent Acquisition team, where we'll discuss your background, career aspirations, and what makes Spotnana a great fit for you. Then a live virtual interview with a panel of engineers and hiring managers.
The day-to-day:
- Designing, writing, and executing comprehensive manual test cases for Spotnana's web and mobile applications, APIs, and backend services
- Performing functional, regression, integration, exploratory, and end-to-end testing across product releases
- Collaborating with developers, product managers, and designers to understand requirements and translate them into thorough test scenarios
- Identifying, documenting, and tracking defects with clear reproduction steps, severity classification, and supporting evidence
- Defining and monitoring quality assurance metrics to drive continuous quality and process improvements
- Leveraging AI tools to assist in test case generation, test data creation, exploratory test ideation, and defect summarization
- Supporting and contributing to automation efforts by reviewing automated test results, flagging gaps, and working alongside SDETs to improve coverage
- Communicating clearly with internal stakeholders regarding test progress, risks, blockers, and release readiness
- Estimating testing efforts, identifying risks, and contributing to mitigation plans to meet project schedules
- Working closely with the engineering and QA team to continuously improve testing processes, checklists, and quality benchmarks
Skills & qualities we value:
- Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or equivalent with 5+ years of manual QA / functional testing experience
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, test lifecycle, and QA best practices
- Hands-on experience testing REST APIs using tools like Postman or similar
- Ability to write clear, structured, and reusable test cases and test plans
- Familiarity with at least one automation framework (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, PlayWrite)
- Basic SQL knowledge to validate data and assist with backend verification
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with tools like Jira for defect tracking and test management
- Comfort using AI tools such as Claude for productivity tasks — including drafting test cases, summarizing bugs, generating test data, and exploring edge cases — as part of the team's established AI-assisted QA workflow
- Good understanding of web application architecture and how frontend, backend, and APIs interact
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a sharp eye for detail
- Clear verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively across engineering and product teams
- A curious, quality-first mindset with the initiative to ask "what could go wrong?" before it does
- Good to have: Prior experience in the travel and hospitality domain, particularly with airline and/or hotel booking engines — familiarity with GDS and NDC systems, booking flows, PNR structures is a plus
