POSITION SUMMARY
The Quality Assurance Inspector level II is responsible for inspecting and troubleshooting quality issues on the job site and working with the onsite management crew to resolve issues. This position is also responsible for completing audits and necessary paperwork to ensure compliance.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Promote a strong quality culture by maintaining Cooper Steel’s core priorities: Safety, Quality, Production
2. Ensure Cooper Steel and subcontractors maintain compliance with AISC, AWS, RCSC, SDI codes, standards, and jobsite specifications
3. Perform quality audits daily
4. Periodically inspect delivered materials for visible defects
5. Interprets results against codes and company standards to ensure quality expectations are being met
6. Coordinate issues and discrepancies with the site management team and offer corrective actions and/or request an RFI through the project management team as needed
7. Coordinate with erector and third-party inspectors to schedule inspections
8. Consult with Cooper Steel On-Site Project Managers and Field Crews on quality related matters that may arise on projects
9. Assist in Quality Training with Cooper Steel and/or Subcontractor field crews as needed
10. Other duties as assigned
