Jobberman's Technology division in Lagos is hiring a QA Intern (0-2 years experience) to support software quality through manual functional, regression, exploratory, and integration testing, API validation with Postman, and guided exposure to test automation with Cypress or Playwright, while collaborating within a Scrum team.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Scrum team to dissect product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria, ensuring clear understanding while flagging potential risks or edge cases.
- Translate business objectives into robust test scenarios and cases utilizing proven design techniques.
- Perform manual testing procedures to confirm that software functionalities match specifications, encompassing functional, regression, exploratory, and integration testing.
- Verify standard user journeys as well as alternative and failure scenarios across diverse devices, browsers, and environments.
- Contribute to API validation initiatives using tools like Postman to verify responses, status codes, and data consistency.
- Aid in the creation of automated test scripts under guidance, utilizing frameworks such as Cypress or Playwright.
- Record, monitor, and report software defects, providing thorough reproduction steps, expected versus actual outcomes, and relevant evidence.
- Partner with developers to troubleshoot issues, retest corrections, and confirm that fixes do not create new problems.
- Engage in Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups and sprint reviews, to update the team on testing progress and quality metrics.
- Keep precise test documentation, such as plans, checklists, and execution logs, while actively seeking methods to boost testing efficiency.
- Review production incidents and customer feedback to optimize future testing strategies and broaden test coverage.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or demonstrated foundational expertise in software development and testing.
- Basic grasp of testing principles, the software testing lifecycle, and various testing categories including functional, regression, and boundary testing.
- Capability to evaluate requirements and logically construct test scenarios and cases.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum, and the defect management lifecycle.
- Strong analytical skills combined with a meticulous attention to detail and a dedication to quality.
- Critical thinking capabilities to foresee user behaviors that extend beyond standard use cases.
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration within cross-functional teams.
- A proactive mindset toward continuous learning, receptiveness to feedback, and ongoing improvement of technical knowledge.
