Quality Assurance Lead
The Quality Assurance Lead will be responsible for leading and strengthening Websparks’ software quality assurance practices across web applications, Content Management Systems (CMS), and digital projects.
The role will oversee both manual and automated testing activities, establish consistent QA standards and processes across projects, and work closely with Project Managers, Business Analysts, Developers and DevOps Engineers to ensure quality is incorporated throughout the software development lifecycle.
The QA Lead will also drive improvements in test automation, CI/CD integration, API and integration testing, test traceability, quality metrics and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage QA activities across Websparks projects, covering both manual and automated testing.
- Work closely with PMs, BAs, Developers and DevOps to define test scope, test plans, test cases, environments and testing requirements.
- Perform and oversee functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, cross-browser and performance testing.
- Develop and maintain automated regression test suites and work with DevOps to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Perform API and integration testing, including schema validation, error handling, retry and timeout scenarios.
- Establish and maintain Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) and identify suitable test cases for automation.
- Review developers' unit testing coverage and testing evidence before QA testing.
- Track, manage and report defects and testing progress.
- Prepare QA reports and monitor key metrics such as test coverage, defect leakage, defect density, test execution rate and automation coverage.
- Review technical documentation and ensure testing and deployment requirements are met.
- Create user guides and testing documentation where required.
- Establish and continuously improve Websparks' QA standards, processes, tools and best practices.
- Mentor and guide QA team members and ensure consistent QA practices across projects.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in software QA/testing, preferably with experience leading QA activities.
- Strong hands-on experience testing websites, web applications and Content Management Systems (CMS).
- Strong experience in manual testing and preparing test plans, scenarios and test cases from requirements/user stories.
- Experience with test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with JMeter or similar performance/load testing tools.
- Experience in API, integration, regression and end-to-end testing.
- Experience with cross-browser testing, broken-link testing and other website pre-flight checks.
- Experience testing WOGAA, Web Analytics and Social Media Tag implementations is advantageous.
- Experience reviewing technical documentation and developer unit-test coverage.
- Good understanding of QA metrics, defect management and risk-based testing.
- Experience handling QA for large-scale websites or digital projects.
- Good communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- ISTQB certification (e.g. CTFL) or equivalent recognised testing certification.
- Experience with Singapore Government digital projects would be an advantage.
