Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Senior Engineer

Job Summary

The QA/QC Senior Engineer oversees quality assurance and quality control activities to ensure projects are delivered in compliance with contractual, regulatory and company quality standards. The role supports the successful execution and handover of EPC water, wastewater and ultrapure water treatment projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and maintain the Project Quality Management System (PQMS) in compliance with project specifications, ISO 9001 and contractual requirements.
  • Prepare, review and administer Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, Quality Plans and quality-related procedures.
  • Review engineering drawings, material submittals, technical specifications and vendor documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Coordinate inspections with clients, consultants, third-party inspectors and relevant authorities.
  • Conduct incoming material inspections, in-process inspections and final inspections for mechanical, piping, process equipment and EICA installations.
  • Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and workmanship requirements.
  • Raise, monitor and close Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Site Observation Reports (SORs) and Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA).
  • Maintain quality records including inspection reports, material certificates, calibration records, FAT/SAT reports and commissioning documentation.
  • Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), commissioning, performance testing and project handover.
  • Perform internal quality audits and participate in external audits by clients and certification bodies.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Design Engineers, Procurement and Construction teams to resolve quality issues promptly.
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives and quality awareness throughout the project team.
  • Ensure compliance with Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) and environmental requirements during inspection activities.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical Engineering or a related Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant QA/QC experience in EPC projects involving water, wastewater, ultrapure water (UPW), process plants or industrial facilities.
  • Good knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and quality assurance principles.
  • Experience in inspection, testing, commissioning and project quality documentation.
  • Familiar with Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, Material Inspection Requests (MIRs), Inspection Requests (IRs), NCRs and CAPA processes.
  • Able to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, process flow diagrams, piping isometrics and equipment datasheets.
  • Knowledge of welding inspections, pressure testing, piping systems and mechanical equipment installation.
  • Experience with water treatment technologies such as UF, RO, EDI, ion exchange, MBR or desalination systems is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Experience with document management systems (Aconex, Newforma, EIDA or equivalent) will be an advantage.
  • Self-motivated, meticulous and able to work independently as well as in multidisciplinary project teams.
