Quality Assurance Safety Specialist

The Quality Assurance Safety Specialist is responsible for delivering on-site safety training to customers’ employees, ensuring compliance with required safety programs and addressing additional training needs as necessary. This position will also support forklift operator certification programs, maintain training records and partnering with Operations, EHS, Service and Training teams to improve safety performance and service quality.

Essential Functions:

  • Training Delivery: Provides and supports customer safety training across regions as needed. Supports forklift operator and safety training initiatives across assigned regions. Provides safety assistance to Field Service Technicians and Team Leaders as needed.
  • Hands-On Instruction: Provide hands-on instruction and demonstrations for equipment operation, including pre-operation inspections, safe maneuvering and emergency procedures. Assists with operator certification programs and verification of training compliance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Supports continuous improvement projects focused on reducing OSHA recordables, lost-time incidents, and service defects. Stays updated on industry trends, safety regulations and training methodologies to enhance expertise and quality of training programs.
  • Compliance: Enforces all safety procedures per Company Safety policies. Assists in implementation and rollout of corporate safety initiatives and standard operating procedures. May assist EHS and Operations in safety observation, inspections, quality reviews, etc. as needed.
  • Documentation: Assists sales team with generating training quotes and scheduling training. Maintains digital training records, certification databases, audit documentation.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Conducts assessments and evaluations of trainees to measure their understanding and proficiency, providing constructive feedback for improvement. Partners with EHS, Operations, Training to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Technician Support: Serves as contact for technicians regarding safety, quality, and best practices.
  • Travel: this position requires frequent travel both within and outside of residing region.
  • Performs related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in material handling, industrial equipment service, safety, training, or related field. Training required to have attended- Tech Primer, Scheduled Maintenance, Trouble shooting and repair, Safety-On-The-Move, Mobile Elevating Work Platforms, and RLM.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, workplace safety practices, and risk assessment principles.
  • Experience conducting audits, inspections, investigations, or compliance reviews.
  • Proven ability to coach and mentor employees while maintaining professional working relationships.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to identify trends and implement corrective or preventive actions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Power BI, SharePoint, and web-based business systems.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% routinely throughout assigned territory.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and provide objective, fact-based assessments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED equivalent and secondary training in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulics.
  • Experience with learning management systems, training databases, or compliance tracking systems.
  • Knowledge of audit methodologies, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement practices.
