Kyocera has a temp-to-hire position for a Quality Assurance Specialist 1 at our San Diego, CA facility.

Candidates selected for hire will be hired through one of Kyocera’s approved staffing partners.

Pay is $18 per hour

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

Under consistent supervision, performs a variety of administrative and inspecting duties to support various levels of quality management and its compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. This role often works in production or packaging areas and may inspect parts, verify routing, or check revision controls.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED
4+ years of related experience required to QA/QC work

Minimum of 2 two (2) years of experience in manufacturing environment is required.
Must be able to read blueprints, pass vision assessment, validate part numbers, and measure parts.

Basic to intermediate excel skills

Accurate data entry skills.

Strong attention to detail.

Eligible to work in an ITAR environment

Pass drug and pre-employment background check

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Responsible for retrieving, storing, and updating QA and quality control documentation. May develop computer usage procedures to support quality system requirements. Prepares and distributes document copies to appropriate personnel.
  2. Audits documentation to ensure program compliance with government contract requirements and federal/state/local regulatory agency requirements.
  3. Maintains logs and records of product quality status. Verifies history files, master drawings, and master specifications for accuracy. Audits clerical processes to determine validity, effectiveness, and efficiency.
  4. Performs QA review and approval of sales orders to verify all required information is accurate.
  5. Assists in developing inspection and sampling plans, including sample sizes and characteristics to be verified.
  6. Works with quality engineers and management to disposition rejected product and problematic paperwork on the shop floor.
  7. Verifies that outgoing product paperwork (labels, certifications) is accurate. May work closely with packaging or warehouse.
  8. Verifies and maintains product status. Generates status and management reports.
  9. Participates in Quality Improvement meetings both internally and externally.
  10. Cross trained on a variety of QA practices and procedures.
  11. Makes charts or graphs of results, and non-conformances.
