Quality Assurance Technician

The Quality Assurance Technician plays a critical role in supporting the day-to-day QA functions on the production floor. This entry level position is responsible for tallow collection, tray-by-tray product inspection and dispostion as well as maintaining the documentation required for certification readiness and compliance. There are 2 available shifts for this role: Friday through Monday 4am-10am and Tuesday through Friday 4am -10am. Availability can be discussed during the interview.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collect tallow and stage it for processing in accordance with company procedures.

• Inspect each tray of product and determine disposition based on established quality standards.

• Place any product that is questionable or does not clearly meet quality standards onto the designated

hold rack for escalated review and further disposition by senior QC or Quality leadership.

• Advance product that meets quality standards forward to the salt team for the next stage of

production.

• Perform routine quality control checks on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to

ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.

• Document and report quality deviations, non-conformances, and corrective actions.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, logs, and reports for quality inspections, sanitation, and

equipment checks.

• Collaborate with production teams to ensure food safety protocols and GMPs are followed.

• Support internal audits and assist with third-party audits, including those required for SQF and USDA

certification.

• Other duties as assigned including cross-department support, participation in training sessions, assistance with special projects and coverage of other quality tasks

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a food manufacturing or meat production environment, preferred.

• Working knowledge of HACCP, GMP, USDA, and SQF requirements, or willingness to be trained.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety and quality assurance.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with QA software systems is a

plus.

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Able to work in cold or humid environments as needed.

• Able to stand and remain on feet for extended periods during the shift
