Quality Assurance Technician
Lunds & Byerlys Mitchell Road is currently hiring for a self-directed Quality Assurance Technician. This position works a full-time schedule and earns a wage $26.00-$34.00/hour.
We operate 24 hours/day and 365 days/year. For this position we are looking for someone with availability around the hours of 5:00am-1:00pm, Sunday thru Thursday.
QUALITY ASSURANCE TECHNICIAN ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct preop and postop inspection of raw and ready to eat production and storage areas
Coordinate internal and external testing and auditing processes including external labs
Conduct raw material and finished product testing and auditing requirements
Assist in development of plant quality assurance procedures and documentation
Assist with new product development, testing, documentation and recipe/product specification compliance
Help establish and maintain programs that prevent food safety issues, HACCP program requirements, and achieve quality objectives
Review plant safety and quality performance and communicate results
Investigate all plant safety and quality complaints and report to appropriate personnel
Provide input to maintain ingredient and product specifications
Assist with recalls and market withdrawals
Help maintain quality/ regulatory documentation and HACCP documentation
Responsible for meticulously reviewing and verifying all product labels during their shift, ensuring accuracy in use-by dates, print quality, and alignment
Regularly assess the effectiveness of the Label Verification program, gather feedback, and make adjustments as needed to continuously improve label quality control processes
Develop a robust training and verification program for other production employees, focusing on label accuracy and adherence to quality standards
Perform environmental swabbing and assist the microbiology program that includes plating, ATP & APC

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Two-year technical degree in chemistry, biology, food science or equivalent experience
Experience
One to three years' experience in plant quality control
GMP and HACCP knowledge preferred
Other required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Ability to maintain compliance with USDA, FDA, OSHA, SQF and all other regulatory agencies while complying with good manufacturing practices
Ability to maintain confidentiality
