Quality Assurance Tester
Summary
QA Engineer validates SaaS web apps and backend systems, writes test plans, runs manual/automated tests, logs bugs in Azure DevOps, and reports results to cross-functional teams.
The QA Engineer will be part of our engineering team and work alongside Product and DevOps in supporting and maintaining our Software-as-a-Service platform along with the following tasks:
- Develop and implement comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test strategies for new and existing products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, product managers, and designers) to understand requirements and define quality goals.
- Identify, document, and track bugs through to resolution using Azure Devops.
- Participate in deployments as needed
- Communicating test results and status reports in an agile environment
Required Qualifications
3+ years applicable experience in QA Support for a Software-as-a-Service platform.
Skills & Experience
- Validating the web applications and backend systems meet requirements and design specifications
- Reviewing functional business requirements and design specifications to ensure understanding of deliverables such as test strategy, test plans and test cases
- Developing, documenting, and maintaining test cases and other test artifacts like test data
- Well versed in SQL & API testing with tools like postman
- Executing and evaluating manual or automated test cases and report test results
- Publishing and communicating test results and test plan statuses using established processes
- Working closely/collaboratively with cross-functional teams (Dev, Management, Operations)
- Providing estimates for test efforts
- Strong communication skills; discussing complex technical concepts to engineers and non-engineers
- Experience with Git version control system
